Republican Senate candidate Michael Sapricone and other Republican leaders slammed Democrats for reforming the state's criminal justice policies. The no bail, not jail, plan put in place by Manhattan D.A. Alvin Bragg has basically put an end to criminals being incarcerated for any crime and has been accepted by Democrats across the state, including Sapricone's opponent Democratic Senator Kristin Hillabrand. Under the Democratic State Legislature, 41 convicted cop killers have been set free since 2017. Sapricone said, the state's reason for their early releases, once a criminal reaches 55 years old, he deserves a better life and a second chance, but the family of the officers killed got a life sentence of grief and living without their loved ones."
