Hempstead Files Lawsuit Against MTA's Congestion Pricing Plan

Len Berman and Michael Riedel in the Morning talked with Hempstead Town Supervisor Donald Clavin about the town filing a lawsuit against the MTA's congestion pricing plan.

Clavin told the guys, "The MTA is trying to pull off another cash grab and Long Islanders are taking another financial hit they don't deserve. The MTA is 1.4 billion dollars over budget and now they are asking for the public to cough up more money. The lawsuit claims the MTA went ahead with the congestion pricing plan without congressional approval, which our lawyer said was needed before the plan could be implemented. Clavin said Hempstead officials also reached out to the National Transportation office but never heard back from them. It seems the MTA doesn't care about suburban commuters.
