Long-time political consultant Hank Shienkopf talked with Len Berman and Michael Riedel about what Republicans must do to win in New York.
Shienkopf said, "The main problems are, Republicans have no bench, and they run candidates who can't win. They need a message that's non-Trump-like if they want to attract more middle-of-the-road Republican voters. With Trump in the picture, it becomes much more difficult for a Republican candidate to get elected in the state. Another problem the Republican party has is that when things get out of hand like they are now, Republican voters will leave they've had enough.
