Less Cops Equals More Crime

Len Berman and Michael Riedel talked with former NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton about what Mayor Adams proposed cuts to the NYC budget will mean for public safety, the very platform Mayor Adams campaigned on.

Bratton told Len and Michael the first thing that had him worried was Mayor Adams' crazy idea of not hiring from the five police academy class graduates when the force continues to lose seasoned, trained officers and retirees makes no sense.

Len Berman asked Bratton if the cutbacks would send officers' morale into the toilet. "The force is already short-staffed, overworked, and feeling unappreciated from the defund the police movement," said Bratton.

"If residents of the city feel unsafe, those with the means will leave."
