Len Berman and Michael Riedel interviewed New York City Councilwoman Vickie Paladino; she represents District 19 in Northeast Queens.
Michael Riedel asked Paladino what it's like being a sensible Republican trying to get things done when most of your counterparts are left-wing lunatics. Paladino said, "You voice your concerns to the opposing members of the city council, then you listen to what the other side suggests, and you try to work things out.
Paladino told Len and Michael she doesn't understand why commonsense democrats vote the party line if they generally disagree. Yet they will not go against the party for fear of retribution."
Paladino said, "She's happy with the latest election cycle because she crushed it in her district, winning 60% to 40%.
