Staten Island Ferry Workers End Labor Dispute

Staten Island Ferry workers have reached a tentative agreement on a new contract with New York City. It ends a labor dispute that lasted more than a dozen years.

“Imagine this: 13 years without a raise. 13 years without a raise. That is just hard to believe. Everything is going up around you, and you're seeing your pay stagnant for 13 years. Unbelievable,” Mayor Eric Adams said.

The deal establishes a 40-hour workweek, grants workers a raise and addresses staffing issues. The contract is retroactive to 2010 and will run through 2027.
