Joe Bartlett delivered the headlines to WOR’s listeners for 37 years before riding off into the sunset on May 31st. But the valued WOR alum still has legions of fans in the audience who are wondering how the respected newsman is doing. Bartlett made an appearance on 710 WOR’s Len Berman and Michael Riedel in the Morning program to get everyone up to speed on his new routine (hint: lots of sleeping past 5am!) and, in homage to the good-old days, needle Len and Michael about the people making the news.
“I missed all of you,” Bartlett began with Berman and Riedel, “but briefly, only for a couple of minutes.” When asked by Riedel about the cocaine found at the White House, Bartlett volunteered, “We know it was Hunter’s, of course, I mean there’s no question about it… I watched Karine Jean-Pierre… she was asked about it, ‘Oh, it’s the Secret Service, we’re gonna let the Secret Service handle it’. Any time they say, ‘well, it’s not our problem’, it’s YOUR problem. They don’t want to have to touch it.”
Bartlett then easily resumed his familiar role as thorn in Berman’s side when the issue of President Biden’s conduct came up. “There’s a lot of damning evidence; in fact, I am convinced that Joe Biden was profiting by using his cocaine-addicted son, Hunter, as a bagman, and he was taking payoffs. There’s no doubt in my mind, and if The New York Times or The Washington Post… got back to journalism, they would dig into this and find out what’s going on. They don’t want to know.”
