Gov. Kathy Hochul announced a new plan on Wednesday that requires all child care centers in New York to require face coverings/masks. The Governor has required that this be placed into effect immediately with everyone from staff to visitors being required to wear masks.
The mandate comes in light of the rise of COVID-19 cases in children in New York and across all of the United States. The state is also requiring everyone in Schools, riding public transportation, and working in homeless shelters also wear a face covering to prevent the rising spread of the virus.
Former Governor Coumo had placed the same order back in May, however, he reversed it within days due to retaliation from parents and workers.
