A bizarre pre-fight ritual by German judo star Martyna Trajdos has gone viral.
Video shows a coach shaking and slapping Trajdos before a fight at the Olympics earlier this week. Trajdos then walks onto the mat for her match, which she ultimately loss. Despite some criticism, Trajdos is defending her coach. She says the ritual helps her wake up for the match.
Trajdos joked that the slaps may not have been hard enough since she lost the match.
