With heatwaves blanketing much of the country, it’s time to remember your pet’s safety.
Pet parents have a few steps to take to make sure their furry friends are protected against the nasty effects of high heat. The Humane Society of America reminds us that pets can get heatstroke too. As a matter of fact, the heat can make them sick just like we get.
Here are some ways to protect your fur baby:
- Limit outside exercise
- Provide shade and water
- Keep them inside if possible
- Do NOT leave your pet in a parked car, even with the windows cracked.
- Keep them hydrated
- Don’t walk your pet on asphalt. It will burn their feet. Grass only!
