With Mets-Nats Series Postponed, NY Opens Season Tonight Vs. Phillies

The New York Mets' Opening Day game that was canceled against the Nationals on Thursday turned into the entire series being canceled after multiple Washington players tested positive for COVID-19.

As a result, the Mets will open the season today against the Philadelphia Phillies—assuming the MLB doesn’t have problem with the voting laws in New York Or Pennsylvania.

Jacob deGrom will likely get the start for New York, as he was originally scheduled to pitch Opening Day on Thursday.

The Mets have a promising season ahead after acquiring Francisco Lindor and Carlos Carrasco from the Cleveland Indians and signing free-agent catcher James McCann.

As for the Nationals, they reportedly have no new COVID-19 cases and are on schedule to host the Braves Tuesday.
