The Poughkeepsie Corps of the Salvation Army in New York is taking winter hats, gloves, and scarves to those in need.
It’s not in the way you think, though...it’s by way of the city's light poles. Major Jose Guzman and his wife Ana run the Poughkeepsie Salvation Army, and he explains it was her idea. She had taken notice of others doing the same thing online and began hanging up scarves and other warm clothes in busy, high-traffic locations.
It’s become a needed lifeline for the city's homeless population, and Ana says they're asking for both clothing and cash donations, as they also serve regular meals for those in need.
