The Weeknd Runs Through The Hits At Super Bowl Half-Time Show

The Weeknd promised a “cinematic experience” with his Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show, and he definitely delivered.

The R&B star, dressed in his sequined red jacket, opened the show sitting in a car surrounded by what seemed to be a virtual backdrop of Las Vegas. After stepping out, an angel appeared to descended from the sky before revealing a wall of background singers/dancers wearing plastic masks.

As for songs, The Weeknd kicked things off with “Starboy,” followed by “The Hills.” He then moved through a maze of mirrors and light as he sang “Can’t Feel My Face,” and was soon joined by a group of face-bandaged dancers. Back on the stage he broke into “I Feel It Coming,” his collaboration with Daft Punk, which was followed by “Save Your Tears" and then a string section popped up behind him for a rousing rendition of his "Fifty Shades of Grey" track “Earned It.”

The performance then moved to the field for the grand finale, with hundreds of face-bandaged dancers dancing in formation. They then went crazy as he performed “Blinding Lights,” with fireworks going off behind him.
