Bills WR Cole Beasley Played With Broken Fibula During Playoffs

If ever Mark Twain’s saying “it’s not the size of the dog in the fight it’s the size of the fight in the dog” applied to an NFL player—it would be Buffalo Bills wide receiver Cole Beasley.

And not just because Beasley led his team with seven receptions for 88 yards in Sunday's 38-24 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game or because he had more receptions, yards and TD’s than any other Bill not named Stefon Diggs.

But because he did it all on one good leg.

This after Beasley told reporters yesterday that he played through a partially broken fibula suffered during the team’s 38-9 victory over the Patriots December 28th. The 31-year-old missed the Week 17 showdown versus the Miami Dolphins but returned one week later for Buffalo's wild-card win over the Indianapolis Colts grabbing seven balls for 57 yards.

“I broke my fibula but it’s nothing that needs to be surgically repaired,” Beasley explained. “It’s not a full break. It was bad the first game I played but after that you take a few meds and suck it up.”
