There are rules for visiting the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree in New York City.
You can thank coronavirus for that. Officials say visitors have to get tickets ahead of time and there will be viewing entrances and zones. Not only that, but there will be virtual line queueing with guests scanning a QR code for their wait time and text when it’s their turn.
Masks and social distancing will be enforced. Folks get five minutes to view the tree and will be directed toward certain areas with no more than four people per area.
The tree is located in Center Plaza and that will be closed to the public and so will the tree lighting ceremony which is being held Wednesday. There will be a heavy NYPD presence enforcing rules and closing down traffic lanes at times.
