Sitting at 0-4 on the season, the New York Jets are the worst team in the NFL at the quarter pole. They are averaging a mere 16 points per game and are being outscored by north of 16 points per game.
And while head coach Adam Gase was brought over to foster the growth of young QB Sam Darnold—there is a very good chance that he will be standing next to him in his final game as the head coach.
That’s only because I am assuming the Jets are going to fall to 0-5 this week when the face the Cardinals because they won’t have their young QB Darnold on the field Sunday against a superior Arizona team. Darnold, who has struggled a great deal thus far this season, suffered an AC sprain in his non-throwing shoulder last week. He’s expected to miss this game.
So the 35-year-old Joe Flacco—who has not started a game since he was a member of the Denver Broncos in the middle of last season—and hasn’t been good since he won the Super Bowl 49 MVP in 2013 will get the nod.
