Lots of people were forced to cancel vacations due to the coronavirus outbreak, and while many are dying for a getaway, whether they're ready to get on a plane is another story. But according to a new report, it looks like people are at least starting to think about traveling again.
A new report by Kayak finds:
- Flight searches have started to rise.
- Flight searches in he U.S., France, UK and Germany were at their lowest between April 6thand 8th, although they did start improving a bit in May.
- People are shying away from big cities, with U.S. searches for places like Anchorage, Miami and San Juan more popular than cities like London, Tokyo and Paris.
- More folks are interested in staying close to home, with domestic travel searches in the U.S., Europe and Asia Pacific more popular than international searches.
- Cities that have eased travel restrictions have seen a steady rise in searches, with Las Vegas getting the biggest spike thanks to casinos reopening.
- Few Americans are looking to head to Europe, with U.S. searches for Europe down 65% compared to last year.
