NJ Man Runs 20.2-Miles To Raise Money For Kids Who Can’t Afford Yearbooks

A New Jersey man took to the streets to run 20.20 miles all to help his community. Patrick Rodio is an avid marathoner, but this time he wasn’t running to set a personal best or to win first place in a race. He ran 20.20 miles to raise money to help the class of 2020 at Collingswood High School to buy yearbooks.

The $75 yearbooks can be pricey for some students and with many people out of work due to the pandemic, coming up with the money may be tougher this year. So Rodio set up a fundraiser for people to donate to as he ran. In the end, he raised over $5-thousand for the 177 graduating seniors’ yearbooks.

"This gesture by Mr. Rodio, and all those who supported the fundraiser, was a special tribute to our seniors,” says Matthew Genna, principal at Collingswood High School, “who certainly deserve something special during this difficult time."
