Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says he wants to "take a pause" and wait until senators return to Washington before considering a phase four coronavirus funding package. Senators are scheduled to come back on May 4th.
Speaking on Fox News, the Kentucky Republican said it's his view that states “should start opening back up to put money into the economy” so hopefully they will not have to have another funding bill.
To that end, McConnell noted that both parties need to assess what adding two-point-seven-trillion-dollars to the national debt will do following the passage of phase three. McConnell said the "ultimate solution" is to get the economy back up and running.
