Geoffrey Zakarian, who holds the “Iron Chef” title, is working to keep New York City fed.
The chef is gathering chefs and celebrities to raise money for City Harvest, the nonprofit that helps distribute millions of pounds of excess food from restaurants, grocery stores and farms to food pantries, soup kitchens and other community organizations.
The commercial free event will air in the Big Apple Friday at 7 p.m. Eastern on WNYW and WWOR and feature John Legend, Neil Patrick Harris, Bobby Flay, Whoopi Goldberg, Eric Ripert, Michael Strahan, Jim Gaffigan, Kristin Chenoweth, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Kevin Bacon, Brooke Shields, Matt Bomer, Julianna Margulies, Chelsea Clinton and Katie Couric.
