New York City is dealing with three possible cases of coronavirus.
The first case was reported on Saturday, with the patient brought to Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan. Two more possible cases were revealed on Sunday night, with patients being treated at Flushing and New York-Presbyterian in Queens.
“New York City has the strongest public health system in the nation — I want every New Yorker to know we’re taking every possible precaution as we respond,” Mayor Bill de Blasio said on Twitter.
De Blasio promised to provide more information once the test results get back. It typically takes 24 to 36 hours.
“Based on everything we know, the risk to the general public remains low, but we can all take the same smart precautions we recommend every flu season, like regular handwashing,” de Blasio said.
