Governor Andrew Cuomo has announced that New York is sending mental health professionals and building inspectors to Puerto Rico.
The island has suffered a series of earthquakes in the past month, including a 5.0 magnitude earthquake just in the last week.
“We're going down to help US citizens but we're going down to help the Puerto Rican community which is part of the New York family. New York is not New York without the Puerto Rican community and that's what it is,” Governor Cuomo said.
Cuomo visited Puerto Rico last month.
