Stranger Risks Life To Save Lost Dog In Traffic

A driver in New York City risked his own life to stop and save a lost dog that had stopped traffic on the middle of FDR Drive. The unnamed man is being called a hero for getting out to rescue the pup on the busy road.

A cell phone video taken by Steven M. Caruso shows traffic at a standstill as the good Samaritan kneels next to the dog on the road. NYPD Sergeant Carlos Nieves reports that the dog, a four-year-old Shiba Inu named Daiki, has been safely reunited with his owners. He also says the man who saved him didn’t give his name, but admitted he’s actually afraid of dogs.
