During a two day trip to Puerto Rico, Governor Andrew Cuomo announced he would offer assistance for the island.
After earthquakes struck Puerto Rico last week, Cuomo said he would deploy 8 engineers and utility experts to the island to address power outages. Health professionals would also be sent to help people who are suffering from trauma.
"The people of Puerto Rico have been through hell, and while the federal administration abdicated its responsibility to help American citizens during difficult times, New York is continuing to step up to provide assistance," Cuomo said.
