Crews are finished taking down the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree and now it will be part of a family’s new home.
The 77-foot Norway Spruce that came down early Sunday morning now goes to Habitat for Humanity to be made into lumber for building homes. The owner and operator of Rockefeller Center donates the tree each year and company staffers help a family build their new home with it.
More than 50-thousand multi-colored L-E-D lights have been packed away after dazzling an estimated 800-thousand visitors each day during the holidays. The annual tree donation to Habitat For Humanity began in 2007.
