A young girl was holding her one-year-old brother in Spring Valley, New York when a pit bull began attacking them. Fortunately, Moshe Lefkovits, a volunteer with the emergency services organization Chaverim of Rockland, was nearby and jumped into action to save them.
The dog had its jaw locked on the baby’s clothing and Lefkovits was able to use a knife to cut the clothing so the kids could escape. A Chaverim spokesman says the hero called for help and more than 20 other volunteers came to assist. Thanks to Lefkovits, the baby and his sister escaped with no bites.
