Eli Manning may not be playing for the Giants next season—but he may be starting for them next week.
That’s because rookie quarterback Daniel Jones injured his ankle in last Sunday’s loss to the Packers and did not take part in yesterday’s practice.
Jones was spotted at practice yesterday in a protective boot which head coach Pat Shurmur explained was because of a “moderate” high ankle sprain.
Shurmur also said that Jones would not be able to play if the Giants had a game on Wednesday or Thursday.
Not sure why he brought up those two days because the question is can he play Monday night when the G-men
Seems like the answer is no because Shurmur said it was likely that Manning gets the start in Jones’s place.
If that’s the case, Manning would play for the first time since Week Two and meet the Eagles for the 31st time in his career. The Giants have gone 10-20 in the first 30 meetings.
