The Peel Regional Police in Toronto seems to have a problem with people calling 911 for non-emergencies.
Recently, a woman called the number looking for a police escort to the train station because she was running late. The police are trying to raise awareness about the definition of an emergency. “Being late for a trip is never ideal. Calling 911 to ask the police to act as an ’emergency’ ride service, to get you there on time? Yeah … not gonna happen,” police tweeted out.
They also highlighted a call they got about a restaurant getting their takeout order wrong last month.
