President Trump will no longer call New York City home.
Despite famously living in Trump Tower for years, the president announced on Twitter that he would be making Palm Beach, Florida his permanent residence.
“I cherish New York, and the people of New York, and always will, but unfortunately, despite the fact that I pay millions of dollars in city, state and local taxes each year, I have been treated very badly by the political leaders of both the city and state,” Trump tweeted.
The president said New York will always have a special place in his heart. But New York lawmakers aren’t sad to see him go.
“Good riddance,” Governor Andrew Cuomo tweeted.“It’s not like @realDonaldTrump paid taxes here anyway… He’s all yours, Florida.”
Mayor Bill de Blasio also sent out a pair of tweets, offering his “deepest condolences” to the people of Florida.
“Don’t let the door hit you on the way out or whatever,” de Blasio tweeted.
