Tourists are clamoring for the Saturday opening of the brand new 102nd-floor observatory at the Empire State Building.
The old 86th-floor observatory, which pulls in over 4 million tourists a year, also received a complete face-lift.
The first thing people will notice on their visit is the absence of the bank-like, zig-zagging, roped off waiting line and the slowing chugging elevators.
Other changes include a 25-foot-tall model of the building, hundreds of photos celebrities and movie clips taken at the building, and a chance to take a selfie while perched in King Kong's hand. The new observatory also features floor to ceiling glass windows.
According to an article published in the New York Post, tickets are available online and at the West 34th Street visitor entrance. There is a $20 up-charge to gain access to the new 102nd floor observatory.
