Feds Take Down Illegal Drug Delivery Service

After several months of investigating, federal prosecutors indicted six men who were allegedly involved in an illegal drug home delivery service known as 'Mike's Candyshop.'

The delivery service, which has been running since January of 2017, made scoring cocaine and heroin as simple as sending a text.

Customers of 'Mike's Candyshop' were able to order delivery of cocaine or heroin seven days a week between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and midnight by texting the word ‘book' or ‘shirt' to the Candyshop's number. ‘Shirt' served as the code word for a cocaine and ‘book' meant that you wanted ten glassine envelopes of heroin.

Undercover law enforcement officers were able to take down the operation after they had deliveries made to safe houses used during the investigation.

According to an article published in the New York Daily News, Christian Baez, Gregoris Martinez, Luis Meson, Joiffrey Urena and Kevin Grullon were all arrested on drug charges.
