President Trump thinks he should get a Nobel Peace Prize – but he thinks it won’t happen – because it’s rigged. So ‘what for’ exactly? "I would get a Nobel Prize for a lot of things,” he offered. “If they give it out fairly, which they don't.”
He made that remark during a photo-op in New York before a bilateral meeting with Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan. It wasn’t completely random, however – a reporter asked Trump if he should get the honor if he successfully mediates a Kashmir peace deal between Pakistan and India. The President is in New York for the UN's annual fall meetings.
On a related note, Trump called himself “an extremely good arbitrator," and questioned why now-former President Barack Obama got a Nobel Peace Prize in 2009 – as wars in the Middle East were raging – and he was tapped for his “extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy.”
