With his presidential campaign in trouble, Mayor Bill de Blasio is dismissing the significance of polls and debates.
De Blasio didn’t qualify for this month’s Democratic debate and a Siena College poll out this week shows him with zero percent support among New Yorkers.
“I just don't ever get lost in that stuff. I think it's about getting an idea out, a message out, and then people will ultimately judge. But the polling is not what matters, the voting is what matters,” de Blasio said.
Earlier this week, his Democratic rival Elizabeth Warren drew thousands of people for a speech in Washington Square Park.
“I think the world of Elizabeth Warren, and I think she says and does very important things and I'm glad that people believe in some of her vision,” de Blasio said.
