The city of Hoboken, New Jersey, has heard the complaints of concerned citizens and suspended the contract of OjO electric scooters.
The electric scooter program in Hoboken has led to numerous injuries and complaints about riders not following the rules of the road.
Kathy Cohen took to social media and CBS.com to voice her anger after getting struck by a rider that used the sidewalk instead of the street.
"My 3-month-old and I were struck by an OjO scooter yesterday as I pushed her down the sidewalk in her stroller," he said. "I screamed as he rammed into the stroller, which rammed into my right leg. The stroller was tilted on its side and my baby was screaming bloody murder."
Hoboken Mayor Ravinde Bhalla said he ended the contract with OjO scooters because they are too big and bulky, but will keep the contract with Lime scooters until their contract is up in November and then the city will re-evaluate keeping them.
