When it comes to sports betting, New Jersey is giving Las Vegas a serious run for its money. In just 11 months of legal betting, Jersey’s sports books are now primed to bring it more money than those in Sin City.
In fact, in both May and June, New Jersey actually brought in more money than Vegas did. Experts say you can expect that margin to widen during the NFL and NBA seasons.
Right now, 80% of sports wagers are taken online in New Jersey, and it’s just a quick train ride from New York to get that Big Apple money in-play since you legally have to be in New Jersey to place a bet through an app.
