The Dolce & Gabbana store on Fifth Avenue was stormed by anti-fur protesters, causing security guards to rush the front of the store in an attempt to stop the protesters from damaging products or disrupting customers.
Fur Activist Len Goldberg told the New York Post that a small group of protesters broke off from a larger group and entered the building to demonstrate against Dolce & Gabbana's continued use of fur on its high-end products.
"Dolce and Gabbana is being so stubborn in continuing to have rabbits and minks killed," said Goldberg.
According to people who saw the dust-up, the security guards inside the store tried to lock the doors with the protesters inside. The main group of protesters retaliated by pulling the doors open in a "tug of war" situation until the demonstrators were allowed to leave the store.
Dolce & Gabbana has not released a statement on the incident.
