The Garden State has won another dubious award from the Reason Foundation.
According to the foundation's annual highway report, New Jersey has the worst urban traffic congestion in the United States.
Baruch Feigenbaum, the report's lead author, told cbslocal.com that "New Jersey ranks in the bottom five states in eight of the 13 metrics used by the Reason Foundation. New Jersey needs to reduce its total spending per mile, improve its pavement condition, and decrease traffic congestion."
New York roads were ranked 45th overall with spending deficiencies in maintenance and bridge repairs. The Empire State finished right behind New Jersey with the second-worst traffic congestion
Both New Jersey and New York spend more money building roads per mile than any other states in the union.
