People often leave things behind when traveling and going through TSA security at airports all around the country. However, it's not often you hear about a passenger leaving behind their 15-foot snake.
TSA agents were alerted by another traveler at Newark International Airport in New Jersey that a snake was loose at the security checkpoint. An officer placed a grey checkpoint bin over the thin black snake, which sports a bright yellow band around the back of its neck and is considered harmless.
The checkpoint lane was closed and passengers asked to clear the area. Port Authority police secured the snake and took it away, which allowed TSA to re-open the lane shortly after.
The person who brought the snake with them has not contacted the TSA about retrieving their reptile.
