Di Fara Pizza in Brooklyn has been shut down by the state over unpaid taxes.
Officials stormed the pizzeria around lunch time, saying Di Fara’s owes more than $167,000 dating back to 2014. The owner claims they have just one missed payment and believes they’re being targeted because it’s a cash business.
Di Fara is considered on the city’s best pizzerias with lines of people often waiting to get a pie. It opened in 1964 and was closed twice last year by health inspectors because of violations.
