Governor Phil Murphy is ordering NJ Transit to take steps to improve communication with customers, amid complaints about service delays, cancellations and disruptions.
He’s signed an executive order that requires the railroad to release performance metrics every month.
“The step we’re taking today requiring performance metrics to be released monthly will give rail commuters the information they need to make informed decisions and provide accountability to the public in real time,” Murphy said in a statement.
The monthly data provided to riders will include the total number of cancellations and the reasons behind them.It will also detail on time rail performance.
