A New Jersey home was listed for sale in 2017 with the price tag of just $10. It went unsold. That's correct, you could have owned a beautiful 4,000-square-foot Victorian mansion in Montclair, New Jersey.
So why would a home like this listed for just $10 not find a buyer for the last 2 years? There was a catch. The home couldn't stay on the land it was sitting on. The home was going to have to be moved. Whoever bought the home would have had to relocate it within a quarter-mile of the current location.
That would have cost a pretty penny to do. It would have cost at least $200,000 to lift the house up and move it down the road. You would also still need to buy the land it would sit on. All in all, it way still way less than the $1.35 million asking price for the historic home when it was previously listed for sale. Unfortunately, nobody made an offer and the house was just demolished this week.
Developers plan on building more houses on the property.
