Medical Examiner IDs Another 9/11 Victim

Almost 18 years later, one of the victims of the 9/11 attack has been identified.

The New York City Medical Examiner has positively identified the remains of another victim of the 9-11 attacks. They used DNA testing to ID the man who is the 1,643rd victim to be identified from the 2001 attack.

The victim's name will not be released. He is the first 9-11 casualty to be ID'd since July 2018. The remains of 40-percent of those killed on September 11th have yet to be identified.

Of those who died in the attacks, 343 were New York City firefighters, 23 were New York City police officers and 37 were officers at the Port Authority. They were between two and 85 years old and about 75-80% were men.
