Teen's Note On Hospital Window Asking For Pizzas Gets Him 18 Pies

Cole Favro has been in and out of the Golisano Children’s Hospital in Rochester, New York for all of his 18 years. He was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at birth and has been getting treatments there and over the years, the staff there has become like a second family to the high school senior. Now that he’s 18, he’s going to be receiving treatments at an adult hospital, so he wanted to do something special to thank the nurses and staff for taking care of him and that’s when he got the idea for a pizza party.

So on his last day at the hospital he wrote a message with paint on an upper floor window of the hospital that read: “SEND PIZZA TO 8 SOUTH ROOM 14.” And it worked! Even Cole was surprised when the pizzas started showing up to his room and they didn’t stop. In two days, the teen received 18 pies - sent by strangers who saw his sign - to share with staff and everyone was feeling the love.

“It feels really nice that there’s a community around, looking out for everybody and helping people in the hospital like me,” Cole says. “It made my day and I appreciate it so much.”
