There was a false alarm at a hospital in Westchester, after reports of a man with a shotgun.
Cops swarmed the New York - Presbyterian Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville after the call came in around 8:45. Officers searched the facility, but didn’t find anything suspicious.
“At no time were any shots fired and we have not identified anybody within the hospital that was armed with a shotgun or any kind of weapon,” Bronxville Police Chief Christopher Satriale.
The scare started after two patients staying on the sixth floor reported seeing a man with a shotgun. After a search turned up empty, officers spent hours reviewing surveillance footage.
“No video has confirmed that there was anyone in the hospital armed with a rifle, shotgun, or handgun,” Satriale said.
A lockdown at the hospital was lifted. Police said this was not a hoax staged by the two patients.
“We have no indication that they reported this in a malicious way,” Satriale said.
