An NYPD officer has been injured and a suspect is on the loose, after the cop was hit by a car in Manhattan.
Officers stopped a black BMW on East 96th Street and Second Avenue on Thursday night. The driver then took off, before stopping again on the FDR Drive and East 15th Street.
At some point, the driver then put the car into reverse and the officer was struck. Other officers on the scene opened fire on the car.
The vehicle was abandoned and the driver fled on foot.The suspect remains on the loose.
The officer suffered minor injuries.
