New York sports icon Warner Wolf turned himself in to police Thursday for allegedly tearing the word "Plantation" off of a sign outside a residential community in Florida where he owns a home.
TMZ reports that Wolf lives in the 'Classics Plantation Estates' gated community in Naples, Florida.
He reportedly complained to his homeowners association several times about the sign, calling the word 'plantation' offensive. He wanted it removed.
Officials say they have video of Wolf taking matters into his own hands and "defacing the sign" on February 7.
Wolf was charged with criminal mischief that resulted in more than $1,000 in damage. He's been released on a $5,000 bond.
The broadcaster has not yet commented on the charges.
