We're finally meet the New Yorker who won a huge Powerball jackpot last month. As you’ll recall, Iowan Lerynne West came forward a few weeks ago – and like Ms. West, Robert Bailey sought legal and financial counsel before revealing his fortune. His take of a $700-million fortune.
Bailey, a retired government worker who hails from Harlem, bought his winning ticket at a local deli – and also, like West, took the lump sum option of 198-million-dollars. After taxes, his bank account got stuffed with $125-million, 396-thousand, 690-dollars.
“You have to watch out for your safety, that’s the main thing,” Bailey said at a press conference. “With any type of money, and this type of money also.’’ That may be why he greeted the press sporting a beard and large, dark glasses. He also says he’ll still play – and to that end? He’s heading to Las Vegas.
