Thousands of people flooded the streets of Manhattan on Thursday night in support of special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.
Earlier this week, Jeff Sessions was forced out as Attorney General by President Donald Trump. Matt Whitaker was elevated to Acting Attorney General.
Protesters gathered in Times Square and marched south to Union Square carrying signs that said things like “Hands Off Mueller.” They accuse Whitaker of being biased and called on him to recuse himself from the investigation.
Whitaker has made past statements about limiting Mueller’s investigation.
