- Mets ace Jacob deGrom took the hill for what was likely his final start of what should end up as a Cy Young Award winning season.
- Mets finally got on the board in the bottom of the 6th when Dom Smith singled in the first run of the game and gave the Amazins and Jacob deGrom a 1-0 lead.
- deGrom was brilliant, striking out 10 through 8 innings, and heading to the dugout with a 1-0 heading to the 9th after throwing 110 pitches and 10 strikeouts. Would that be it for Jake?
- Michael Conforto added one more run with a solo HR in the bottom of the 8th and it was 2-0 NY.
- Dom Smith added one more with a solo HR as well, 3-0 NY heading to the 9th
- deGrom was indeed done after 8, and Seth Lugo came on to try and shut it down for the Mets.
- 1-2-3 went the Braves and the Mets and deGrom had a win. deGrom gets a winning record and his ERA is at 1.70. He's in the drivers seat for the 2018 NL Cy Young Award.
