Five people have been injured after a slashing at a daycare in Queens.
Three of the victims are infants and they're listed in critical, but stable condition. The children are 3-days old, 20-days old and one month old. The victims are all expected to survive.
"There was one child more seriously injured than the other two," NYPD Assistant Chief Juanita Holmes said.
A female worker and a father of one of the children was also stabbed and injured. All of the injured were taken to area hospitals.
A 52-year-old woman was arrested at the home on 161st Street before 4 a.m. on Friday morning. She also had a slash wound to her wrist that is believed to be self-. She was unconscious when police found her but later regained consciousness.
A butcher knife and meat cleaver were both recovered from the scene.
It’s unclear what led to the incident. It's also unknown if this was a licensed daycare center, but police said there is some paperwork to suggest it is. An investigation continues.
A total of nine children were at the daycare, which is also a home.
